Mother Nature's Practical Joke

You know how March is supposed to come in like a lion and out like a lamb? Both the beginning of March and end of March this year were kind of meh.

But the beginning of April? Mother Nature decided to play an April Fool's joke on all of us. After such a mild Winter, we got snow the beginning of April. And of course I didn't take pictures. And that's okay.

It cleared up and we've had some sunny days since then. 

I don't have pictures of the weather, but here is a picture of Jr. Jr. learning how to pass juggling balls with me. 

It's a lot more effective when I'm not trying to take the picture and juggle at the same time. Tee Hee.

That was not a sunny day as you can see. 

March Came In Like a Baby Lion

March came in like a baby lion this year.

Everyone in the house was cannibalized by Jet aka the baby lion. The only reason I can write this is because I hid in my room. I lost both my legs but none of my arms and I got bit on my shoulder. So, I guess I'll just live in this room until Jet learns how to pick a lock or I die of starvation. Oh no, Jet just picked the lo

 

March Did Not Come In Like a Lion

March did not come in like a lion... besides me being sick. Jet and I were sick together. We have had a few snow storms since the beginning of March, though.

March 4 was National Sons Day. Apparently Sons Day shows up twice in a year, March and September. I had some bonding time with the boys. They got to play video games.

We also ate fish sticks for National Tartar Sauce Day.

March Comes In Like a Lion

Mmm, not so much. Beautiful first day of March we had.

A few days later it did rain, but by the evening, it was nice again.

The first day of March brought us Share a Smile Day. We smiled. It brought us Peanut Butter Lover's Day. People ate peanut butter sandwiches. It also brought us National Pig Day. I decided to create another version of my "Pig Island" picture from 2015. I went around singing the song as well.

 The second day of March brought us Dr. Seuss' birthday. "Do you like green eggs and ham?"

The third day of March brought us I Want You to Be Happy Day. Double Chocolate Chunk Muffins make us happy. It brought us National Cold Cuts Day. People ate ham sandwiches. It also brought us National Soup It Forward Day. I took that opportunity to try a new soup recipe, Easy Chicken Parmesan Soup, from sixsistersstuff.com and it was so yummy. Jeremy, Nichole, Jet, and I all loved it.

The fourth day of March brought us National Sons Day. I let the boys pick what we'd have for dinner so we had pepperoni pizza, BBQ chicken pizza, and Pineapple Fanta. It brought us Grammar Day. I corrected people's grammar from time to time. It also brought us National Dance the Waltz Day and National Marching Music Day. Like last year, Jet and I danced the waltz to "Stars and Stripes Forever" in 3/4 time.

 

The next day we had enough ingredients to make more pepperoni and BBQ chicken pizzas so the kids made more pizzas. Thanks, kids. 

March Did Not Come In Like a Lion

It's March 1.  After taking the kids to school and moseying back home, a few snowflakes fell as I was taking pictures of neighborhood birds.

We're still going through sickness but Lucky and I felt up to getting some fresh air this afternoon and went for a walk.

We walked past some roosters and chickens, one of the roosters was crowing quite a bit.  Lucky got a kick out of them.

A nice robin posed for us on the rain gutter.

March did not come in like a lion.  Spring is on its way.

March Lions

March did not come in like a lion here. However, we did have a little something to do with lions. One of the servers at the Brick Oven is doing a documentary about Jeremy for a class at BYU. So, Jeremy is building a lion for the documentary. It's about halfway done. They're going to film some more later.


When it's done, it should look similar to this:

I wouldn't be surprised if we got a big storm sometime soon, but for now, we'll enjoy this kind of lion.
