Our Vacation, Thy Creations, and Our Relations- Part 9

We had a couple relaxing days in Washington before Go Go Go again.

Church, resting, family time.
On July 7, we celebrated National Macaroni Day (with shells pasta, tee hee), World Chocolate Day with birthday cake because we also celebrated Nichole's Birthday, and Father Daughter Take a Walk Day. They got creative with that one. Heh Heh.

On July 8, we celebrated Video Game Day and National Blueberry Day. I forgot to wear my new video game shirt that day so I wore it a few days later.

The doll head continued to be found in various places.

It was nice to chill again.

I'll share more of our wonderful vacation later.

Birthday Goals

We reached the last day of school. I remembered to get last day of school pictures of the boys.
Last month I got a picture of Nichole while she was taking her last final. So I got her last day of picture, too.
When I told Jeremy that I got last day of school pictures of the boys, he sent me a "last few minutes of break" picture so I could add that to the collection. I love my husband.
I also celebrated my birthday.
When Jeremy asked me how birding had gone, he asked me if I'd spotted anything rare. I told him, "Nothing rare. Juvenile robins and starlings." It gave him the impression that those were the only things I'd seen. I had to quickly mention that I had seen a lot of other birds but those were the ones I don't see as often. I did see Western Tanagers for the first time this year. It was relaxing going birding that day.

Terry Pratchett's Birthday

April 28 was Terry Pratchett's Birthday. We decided that morning to celebrate with a Terry Pratchett themed dinner so we used what we had on hand to create what we did. #shelfcooking
We also played a Discworld video game from the 90's and our oldest son played "Thud" with his siblings, a homemade game he got for Christmas.
We made a Vimes BACON lettuce tomato sandwich,
Dibbler's sausage in a bun (with onions and mustard), Captain Carrot sticks, bananas for the librarian at Unseen University (ook), cheese trolley, sludge from the river Ankh to drink, and Dirt.
We also had "the fifth elephant" as a centerpiece.
My favorite thing was the luggage cake we made. I am not a cake decorator but I think it turned out well.
And of course there were Terry Pratchett books all over to read.
And... dwarf bread to fight with.
I love celebrating with this family.

More Celebrations

March 9 was National Meatball Day.
Jr. had an orchestra festival that day. Jeremy, Nichole, Jet, and I were able to watch.
This was Jet's reaction to seeing his brother on the TV.

March 10 was National Mario Day. Jeremy pointed out that is was March 10. Mar10. That spelled "MARIO." The kids wanted to play Mario video games but they didn't get to. They did get to watch a movie with popcorn for Popcorn Lover's Day.

March 11 was World Plumbing Day. Who is our favorite Italian plumber? Mario, of course. So the kids finally got to play Mario video games.

Speaking of video games, March 12 was Plant a Flower Day so I played Plants vs. Zombies.
What do you think? Think I'm ready for that final wave of zombies?

I also played Plants vs. Zombies on March 13, National Jewel Day. I just had to get that jewel.
March 13 was also Open an Umbrella Indoors Day. Jr. helpfully posed for pictures.
Mom: Do you want to show your face?
Jr.: No, thanks.
Mom: You are getting sleepy.
