Catching Up March 2025 part 2

We still had sickness going through our home in March so our celebrating was sporadic even with things we would have definitely celebrated in the past.

March 6 was the birthday of the Oreo cookie. We ended up spreading our Oreo celebrating over several days so it didn't all happen on March 6. I did make sure to listen to Weird Al's "The White Stuff" that day. Other things we did to celebrate:
Had Oreo Puffs cereal for breakfast
Had birthday cake Oreos
Had Oreo frosting on chocolate graham crackers

March 7 was National Tartar Sauce Day so we had fish sticks with tartar sauce.

March 9 was Popcorn Lover's Day. Some people had popcorn. It was also Get Over It Day and Meatball Day so of course the phrase, "Get over it, you meatball," was used frequently.

March 10 was Mario Day (Mar10) of course. we watched The Super Mario Bros. Movie. That's a fun movie. Jet loves it and requests to watch it from time to time. It is yet another movie that I don't mind putting on for him because it doesn't annoy me and I don't get sick of it.

March 12 was the day Moana 2 came to Disney Plus so we ate Hawaiian Haystacks and started watching it (finished it another day). Personal opinion: it's not as good as the first movie and I prefer the Mario movie we watched a couple days before. It's fun to find reasons to celebrate, though.

March 14 was Pi Day. I made apple pie. I love apple pie.
Notice Nichole's PIESS shirt. Since March 14 is also Potato Chip Day, we taste tested a new to us flavor of potato chips. All Dressed. It wasn't that impressive as you can tell by the picture.

March 15 was the Ides of March. We did not celebrate like we normally do with Caesar salad and Orange Juliuses but we told each other to, "Beware the Ides of March." Jeremy and I went for a walk that day, though. I absolutely love spending time with my husband.

Fish Sticks and Cabbages

February 16 was Tartar Sauce Day so we had fish sticks with tartar sauce.

February 17 was National Cabbage Day. We made something I had been wanting to for a while- Hungarian stuffed cabbage. It's been a few years since we made any. Yumm. Because my cooking ability has improved so much in the last few years (thanks to all those food bloggers and shows, etc.), stuffed cabbage seemed pretty simple. I used the same recipe I did before and it was simple enough, just a little time consuming with taking individual leaves off in boiling water, etc.
But the end result was yummy. I made some French bread to go with it and we had Fanta. Jeremy drank a lot of Fanta on his mission in Hungary.

Penguin Awareness Day

Penguin Awareness Day was on January 20. We had our traditional fish sticks with tartar sauce or vanilla pudding.
Lucky made us aware that anytime he is in a group at school, he convinces his group to have a group name with the word "penguins" in it.
Jet wore pajamas with penguins on them.
We like penguins and Penguin Awareness Day.

March Did Not Come In Like a Lion

March did not come in like a lion... besides me being sick. Jet and I were sick together. We have had a few snow storms since the beginning of March, though.

March 4 was National Sons Day. Apparently Sons Day shows up twice in a year, March and September. I had some bonding time with the boys. They got to play video games.

We also ate fish sticks for National Tartar Sauce Day.

Some Holidays From Last Week

Monday, February 22, was Cook a Sweet Potato Day. I made sweet potato fries. Lucky decided that they looked like Ood tentacles (see Doctor Who) so he went with it.

Tuesday, February 23, was National Rationalization Day. There was definitely rationalizing going on. I rationalized making banana muffins for National Banana Bread Day. Jet loves bananas and apparently banana muffins as well. He devoured the one or two I gave him and then when he saw I put one on my plate for myself, he begged for that one, too. Sigh. I did eventually get one for myself.

Wednesday, February 24, was National Tortilla Chip Day. With dinner we had chips and salsa.

Friday, February 26, was For Pete's Sake Day. Yes, that phrase was most definitely uttered.

Sunday, February 28, was Public Sleeping Day. I won't mention how many people slept during online church. To be honest, some of us have been getting our February sicknesses, so that's a good excuse for sleeping. We did a good job at skipping the bad stuff in December (some Winters are really bad) so we're having some little illnesses now (not as bad as December usually is). So it was a blessing to still be able to "go" to church even while sick. I've enjoyed the not getting as sick thing this Winter.

I signed up and attended some RootsTech stuff about Family History so February 28, Tartar Sauce Day, I also told my family a story from my childhood about tartar sauce. I did so as we ate salmon burgers with... you guessed it... tartar sauce. Speaking of family history and RootsTech, I needed a profile picture for it so I took these two pictures and decided to use one of them. Guess which one I used.

Yeah, I ended up choosing more conservative over what I would have used on Facebook or something. But you get the benefit of seeing both of my choices.
