I Miss Him When He's Gone

Jeremy had a shorter trip recently. He was gone for only a few days and was only a state away.

I still miss him when he's gone but I'm happy when he comes home. I love him so much.

While he was at this fair convention, he built a one man band out of balloons. It was based on a real entertainer, Eric Haines. Eric's website is funmanband.com 

He wasn't at the convention but so many people were sending him pictures of the balloon sculpture before Jeremy could even send him one. Jeremy had talked to him in advance about basing a balloon sculpture on him. This is one of the pictures Eric sent to Jeremy to use as a reference picture.

 

Isn't that so cool? Eric really liked the balloon sculpture. 

Along with the one man band, Jeremy built a few animals following him. I can't get over how much I love the cow.

I do love seeing what my husband creates. That's Balloon Guy Entertainment. He is so awesome. 

Balloon Bag End

No more sneak peeks.  It is done.  Balloon Bag End. 
Jeremy built a room from Bag End from J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Hobbit" out of balloons.  It took up most of our living room and took 3 days to build.  It stayed up for a couple days then was demolished by our family in a couple more.
Jeremy and I had been working on putting together a time lapse video of it, and we finally finished.  Phew.
So here you go.

March Lions

March did not come in like a lion here. However, we did have a little something to do with lions. One of the servers at the Brick Oven is doing a documentary about Jeremy for a class at BYU. So, Jeremy is building a lion for the documentary. It's about halfway done. They're going to film some more later.


When it's done, it should look similar to this:

I wouldn't be surprised if we got a big storm sometime soon, but for now, we'll enjoy this kind of lion.

Summer is the Busy Season

Summer is the busy season for Balloon Guy Entertainment. Usually I'm the stay-at-home mom, but every once in a while, I get to be involved in a big event or a big build. Last week and this, we've been working on...

Wonderland.

The Orem Library is starting their summer reading program and the kickoff event is always a Teddy Bear Picnic. This year's theme is the Mad Hatter's 'T' Party. With some other balloon twisters, Brendan and Marshall and Mike, donating their time and talent, we created the March Hare's house, a tea table, the Mad Hatter, a playing card, the Cheshire Cat, and numerous giant flowers and giant mushrooms. We started last Thursday at the library and twisted all day Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, rested on Sunday of course, then set up where the 'T' party was to take place and finished building on Monday. On Tuesday, today, and tomorrow, Jeremy did or will do a magic show (with a little juggling thrown in- get it? Thrown in). So if you want to see the last show and Wonderland in person, the Mad Hatter's 'T' Party begins tomorrow at 10:30am. Get there early (half hour?) because for the last couple days it has been packed.

Now I have been involved with big builds before, but this is the first time I've created a large sculpture all by myself (as you know, Jeremy does it all the time). I must say, I'm pretty proud of my "little" table.

And of course I have to give credit to our kids. They have been absolute troopers. It has been crazy dragging them back and forth to and from the library every day. This has been hard on them. But with three room changes during the build, they've been helpful transporting balloons, and playing mostly well while being stuck inside (at least it's not in our hot apartment). We've had our rough moments, but I want to say Thanks to the kids for being such troopers. And they get to go to a 'T' party for three days to see the Mad Hatter and Alice, and listen to storytellers, and watch Daddy's magic show.

It's quite an adventure.

Jumpin' Jacks

Jeremy went to Jumpin' Jacks again. This time it wasn't for a teddy bear picnic so he made:
