Coyote

When everyone else is captivated by the bison so close to the road and I'm like, "Ooh, there's a coyote."

Waffle or Not Waffle

March 25 was International Waffle Day. I had to make decisions. Should I do this or that? I could do this but I could also do that.
Jet was not indecisive. He wanted to do everything Mommy was doing. Mommy ate cereal. Jet wanted to eat cereal. Mommy ate string cheese. Jet wanted to eat string cheese. Mommy brushed her teeth. Jet wanted to brush his teeth. He also wanted to help with dishes and putting rolls in bags to freeze.
Jet: I helped.

We danced together. I bent down to tie my shoelace when it came undone. Jet bent down to "tie" his Velcro. Mommy was getting eggs out of an egg carton. Jet picked some eggs out of the carton. I got them from him before any were dropped on the floor.
There were some things Jet insisted I do like playing with a ball and other toys and games.
For dinner we of course had waffles. We ended up with breakfast for dinner with hashbrowns, scrambled eggs, and applesauce. The waffles were topped with banana slices and chocolate chips.

Chips and Cheesesteaks

March 23 was National Chip and Dip Day. Yes, I made bean dip. Yes, it had seven layers.
Earlier, though, Jet and I went out to play at a park. I am loving that there are more nice days to play. Yay, Spring!

The next day, March 24, was National Cheesesteak Day. I am loving these Cheesesteak Subs we make from a recipe from Mel's Kitchen Cafe. Yumm. And I love that we can make homemade buns from another recipe from Mel's Kitchen Cafe- French Bread Rolls
Jet of course wanted to be my baking buddy again and throw rolls and buns around while I tried to shape them.
He and I got out again that day for a walk around the neighborhood. Well, sort of. I wanted to go for a walk. Jet wanted to lie down on the ground and roll around in the dirt. Sigh. So we turned it into a game. I tried to convince him to walk back home while he decided to crawl back so I asked him what animal he was walking on all fours. I'd ask. He'd make the animal sound. A dog? Woof. Woof. A cat? Meow. An elephant? *Insert trumpeting sound* A monkey? Ooh ooh ah ah. We eventually made it back home.

By the way, I didn't tell him to make this face. That was his own decision. I don't know where he gets it from.

More Dinner Club

Here are some more of my #dinnerclub posts that don't fit in with the holidays. I've told you I use our calendar of celebration for menu planning a lot. That's why there aren't as many of these posts. But I still like posting about dinner club. And I do better with having a variety of foods at the dinner table because of it.

Goofing Off with Water

March 22 was National Goof Off Day. I didn't tell the kids this. I did mention they should drink lots of water because it was World Water Day. I planned to celebrate National Goof Off Day myself.
Jet and I were both tired that day so the idea of just resting sounded good. We did go for a drive to take items back to both Orem and Provo Libraries. Jet fell asleep but didn't stay asleep when we got home. Later after the kids got home from school, I debated whether to try to take a nap or go for another drive with Jet. I rested for a little bit but eventually took that drive. Jet fell asleep and I got pictures of water (for the holiday) and deer and a mountain.

I told everyone dinner was Fend For Yourself... you know... so I could goof off. Jeremy stopped by the grocery store and brought home some stuff for himself and me and we added some things we had at home (i.e. leftover French bread) to make a nice dinner plate.
So there was some goofing off... sort of.

French Bread Day 2022

March 21 was French Bread Day. As always, I used the easy homemade French bread recipe from Mel's Kitchen Cafe. Then to go with dinner, I made instant pot apple crisp from my Six Sisters' Stuff book, "Instant Cooking."

We finally put Jet in our rotation for Family Home Evening so that night he gave us the lesson. I showed a picture from the Friend magazine and he repeated me as I read it to everyone. So cute.
We opened up our crackers/meat/cheese box thing that neighbors gave us for our treat. Yumm.

First Day of Spring

It was a rainy first day of Spring on March 20. I stayed after church for choir practice and decided to walk home because it was the first day of Spring.
It was a bit breezy and it sprinkled. My sister said she got snow. Interesting first day of Spring. For several days after that it felt more like Spring.

We had snowman sandwiches for Snowman Burning Day that first day of Spring evening.

Nichole came home from her trip that night. Yay!
I forgot to get a picture of her when she left but made sure to get pictures when she returned.
She had a great time. I'm so glad. She also got some fun souvenirs.
Lucky made a lite brite "Welcome Home" message for her. She liked it.
 Welcome home, Nichole!

Par-tay!

Nichole went on a school music department trip to California and Disneyland so while she was gone we made sure to have a party without her.
So after dinner on March 19 of corn dog muffins for National Corn Dog Day, BBQ chicken pizza and chicken stuffing for National Poultry Day, and other sides, we had our party.

Treats and a Disney/Pixar movie. The boys chose to watch Inside Out (it was Let's Laugh Day after all) and one of their treats was hot chocolate with caramel syrup in it for Chocolate Caramel Day.
Woohoo! Party!

I Took a Break

I worked hard. I deserved a break. I took it. Jeremy was home. Jet was asleep. I wanted to go for a walk in a park.
Vitamin D!
I headed to Riverview Park in Provo and as soon as I got out of the van, I could hear so many birds. It was soooooo nice. I started out on the walking path but soon ended up at a few spots along the river enjoying the sunshine, watching the birds, loving the sound of the river, trying to avoid getting too close to a very noisy Cooper's hawk and later what I'm guessing was its nest.

I did finally walk around for a bit on the path before Jeremy let me know that Jet woke up so I headed home relaxed. Have I mentioned I love nature?

That evening we had sloppy joes for dinner since it was Sloppy Joe Day on March 18.
