Jr. Jr.- May be called "The Baby"

I haven't blogged in a while. I've been busy.

Nursery Rhyme Adventures

The kids and I were looking at a little book of nursery rhymes. I thought I'd be talking about snails and puppy dog tails. This is what happened.

Mommy: What are little boys made of, made of? What are little boys made of?
Jr.: PINE CONES!
Mommy: Pine cones? Ha Ha Ha.
Nichole: No!
Mommy: What are little boys made of?
Nichole: Umm... Bones!
Then while finally getting to read the rhyme-
Mommy: What are little girls made of, made of? What are little girls made of?
Jr. (running in from a different room): BONES!

Jr.: Ring around the pine cones. Ashee Ashee pine cones. We all fall pine cones.

Halloween Costumes 2010

I wanted to learn to sew with a sewing machine- especially to not be intimidated by the machine. Well, I am not as intimidated now (Thanks, Trina). This year was my first opportunity to sew Halloween costumes for the kids. I had plenty of warning as Nichole told me she wanted to be Minnie Mouse for Halloween as soon as we found out our baby's due date was Halloween.

Please excuse the stuff on the floor. I was up til 12:45 this morning sewing and Jeremy was up til 4 this morning getting things ready for our family Halloween party (we don't know what exactly we'll be doing come Halloween this year), so we didn't have time to vacuum.
Just focus on the cute children.

Curse You, Perry the Platypus

O.K. It's not actually Perry the Platypus, but that's what it makes me think of.

It is a platypus, though.

Night Shirts

Nichole wanted to wear a dress to bed so I let her wear one of my shirts which is dress length on her. Jr. didn't want to be left out so Daddy offered to let him wear one of his pajama shirts. They were both quite happy when they went to bed.

Praying and Scripture Reading

In Primary, Nichole got a reading chart to keep track of reading the whole Book of Mormon. On the chart is this quote (I don't have a reference for this, just that it is on the reading chart):

"If you don't have time to pray and read your scriptures, you are busier than God ever intended you to be."

Catch of the Day

You know how sometimes some of your cups get turned upside down while the dishwasher is running? Well, this is a new one for me. Look how they landed.

Little Girls Love Dress Up

We're trying to get things organized before the baby comes and Jeremy would love for his office to be really usable as an office and studio and not just a storage area. So we've been going through a lot of crates and boxes lately (hence the mess in some of the pictures I've been putting up on the blog).

Nichole noticed some of our clowning and entertaining stuff and just had to try it out.

Arrr.

Going on an expedition.

Rainbow Princess

Isn't she pretty? I love the "clouds" for the bottom of her dress. And her sleeves are so fun. Jeremy did this for a party where they wanted something rainbow themed for the sculpture.

Pregnancy Brain

O.K. A lot of us have gone through this before, but I have really gotten to that point now. Call it what you will. I call it "pregnancy brain."

The other day, I went out to deliver something to a little boy from my Sunbeam class. I had the address of 295 so I was driving along looking for it. I pulled over and saw one address 240 and the house right next to it had the address 298. I couldn't for the life of me find 295 so I went home. I told this to my husband who said to me, "and then you figured out to look on the other side of the street, right?" Even on one side, odd on the other? Oh brother. Of course that did not occur to me. Pregnancy brain.

I went out again and easily found the right house. Sigh.

Oh and to go along with my pregnancy brain, I'm finally getting my puffy pregnancy feet. Just barely. I was thinking maybe my feet won't actually get swollen this time, but alas there they go.

Well, it's a good excuse to put my feet up.

Sharing

It's so nice when your children can share nicely. Even if it means wearing Daddy's shoes at the same time.
