The KAT'S Meow

Mom:  Here's pasta and here's sauce.
Jr.:  Is this macaroni and cheese or just macaroni?
Mom:  Just macaroni but the sauce has cheese in it.
Jr.:  I don't really like the sauce.
Mom:  Have you ever tried it?
Jr.:  No, which means I hate it.
Mom:  Ah, guilty until proven innocent, right?
Jr.:  Yes.

Jeremy:  Why did the sheep smile when it was having its wool removed?
Kristin:  Why?
Jeremy:  For the shear pleasure of it.
Kristin:  Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha.

So Long and Thanks for All the Fish Sticks

May 25 is Towel Day.  I did things, right.  I sent all three kids to school with towels in their backpacks.  Nichole had a pool party through school today so she was already planning on taking a towel.
I convinced Lucky to take a towel so I could wash his favorite blanket today.  After it came out of the washing machine, he insisted on having it back.  "I like it wet," he let me know.
When we went to pick up Jr. Jr. from school, Lucky and I played a game with the towel.  When a friend came by, Lucky and she played the game.  So cute.
After school, we had "So long and thanks for all the fish" sticks.  I didn't take a picture but there are lots of pictures of fish sticks on this blog already.
This evening, we went out to play with water balloons and towels.  The towels only lasted so long before they were abandoned for water balloon war.  Fun stuff.

Gotta Catch Up

O.K.  We have so many things coming up.  I better catch up on some of our celebrations before I get extra super far behind.
Now, where was I?  After Screen Free Week.  Whoa.  I've missed a lot.  Here we go.
Let's start with our anniversary.  It happened in May.  We continued our tradition of our special anniversary dinner with the kids.  We have an idea for Jeremy and I to celebrate alone, but we haven't gotten to that yet.  But I know we will. My husband is awesome. The kids helped make the dinner which was so sweet.

We haven't had an anniversary date yet, but we did have a nice birding date.  We found some birds we went out specifically to see and we had a nice walk along a beach of Utah Lake.  We were able to hold hands without any children getting between us.  Lovely.  Jeremy even gave me a rose before we headed out to the lake.  Awwww.

We celebrated Mount St. Helens Day on May 18.  We made mashed potato volcanoes and watched a short documentary about Mount St. Helens.

The 20th of May was Eliza Doolittle Day.  "Lots of chocolate for me to eat."  We brought chocolate to visit friends and had some fun playing Breath of the Wild again.

We've been having lots of end of the year school things as well.

The kindergartners and preschoolers had their own art night.  They do that instead of a kindergarten graduation.

I got to go on Jr. Jr.'s last field trip of the year to the Museum of Natural Curiosity.  Good bonding time.  It wore us out, though.

We went to Jr.'s presentation on Utah history.  Great job, son.

Nichole is finishing up elementary school so we got to see her get some awards.

Phew.  Now onto all the upcoming events and celebrations.

Not Going to Do It

Oh, so much catching up to do on my blog.  Lots of celebrating we've done.  I'm not going to catch up right now.  I will say what we did today.
This evening we got together with relatives for Family Home Evening.  We met at a park in Payson to have a lesson on birds in the scriptures then we went on a scavenger hunt looking for certain birds.  And we played and ate cookies and did some catching up.  It was nice to see these cousins.

Mother's Day 2017

So yesterday was Mother's Day.  Lovely day.  Church was nice.  Nichole made me some things in Primary.  Some of the boys gave me candy from the "candy man."
After church, I got to open up Mother's Day gifts that Jr. and Jr. Jr. made me at school.  I also opened up a gift from Jeremy.
Everyone helped make dinner.  The kids made pancakes (chocolate chip), a couple of them made an orange drink, and Jeremy made eggs and ham.
Jeremy also made me truffles.  Mmmmmm.
I love my family.  I love being a mother to my children.  I love having Jeremy as my husband and father to my children.
I also called my mom to wish her a Happy Mother's Day.  I love my mom.  She is such a good mom now and was a good mom while I was growing up.  I want to be like her.  Wonderful woman.
It was a good Mother's Day.

Here's one of the things Jr. Jr. made for me at school.  "All About My Mom."  Here's what he thinks of me:
My Mom is 15 years old
Her favorite color is purple
Mom's favorite food is pizza
She loves to spend time with me
If she had extra time she would play
My Mom looks prettiest when she this week, in May
My Mom always forgets nothing
My favorite thing to do with my Mom is play "Apples to Apples"
What I love most about my Mom is she makes pizza

Screen Free Week 2017

O.K.  Finally getting around to blogging about Screen Free Week.  Yay.
O.K.  So Screen Free Week this year was Monday, May 1- Sunday, May 7.  On Sunday, April 30, I was sick.  Blech.  Probably a 24-hour bug.  Not fun.  So first day of Screen Free Week on Monday, lots of resting/recovering and lots of book reading.  No movies.  Actually, Tuesday was also recovering.  Wednesday, I did pretty well.  I got out and got some things done, even going for a nice walk.  Then Wednesday night, Jr. was sick.  Sigh.  So, I was up all night taking care of him.  He was up a lot, too, but somehow, somehow, he had energy on Thursday.  My goodness.  I did not.  I was so exhausted that day.  Jr. stayed home from school but he was able to play with his brothers while I slept on the couch.  I am glad he was able to bounce back from that pretty well.  I didn't.  It was also good because Jr. was able to go to the school's annual Art Night and didn't have to miss it.  Walking to the school that evening did take a bit out of him (and I was still tired), so we only stayed for a little while.  Long enough to see the art projects each of our kids had on display and see Jeremy and his balloon hats he was making for people.  They kind of had an Inside Out theme going on, so Jeremy made hats based on the different emotions.  Simple and quick enough to get through a lot of people and they loved them.

(the pictures of Nichole pointing to her art didn't work out so I'm just showing her art)

Friday, Jr. was able to go to school.  Nobody was sick on Saturday and Sunday.  And that's what Screen Free Week was like this year.  Sick and resting and no movies or video games.
Actually, there were other things we did do during the week.  Here are some pictures:

Nichole brought home medals from their 6th grade Olympics.

Tuesday, May 2, was Baby Day.  We had pigs in a blanket, baby corn, baby dill pickles, baby carrots, lil' smokies in Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce, tater tots, and milk to drink.

We celebrated Cinco de Mayo on Friday with chimichangas, refried beans, spanish rice, and chips and salsa.

Jeremy and I both got to do some birding.  Jeremy saw killdeer with their little puffball chicks.  He also got better pictures of a skunk than I got last year.

There were other things we did, of course, but with what I was going through that week, if I don't have pictures, I don't remember.
