Birthday Goals

We reached the last day of school. I remembered to get last day of school pictures of the boys.
Last month I got a picture of Nichole while she was taking her last final. So I got her last day of picture, too.
When I told Jeremy that I got last day of school pictures of the boys, he sent me a "last few minutes of break" picture so I could add that to the collection. I love my husband.
I also celebrated my birthday.
When Jeremy asked me how birding had gone, he asked me if I'd spotted anything rare. I told him, "Nothing rare. Juvenile robins and starlings." It gave him the impression that those were the only things I'd seen. I had to quickly mention that I had seen a lot of other birds but those were the ones I don't see as often. I did see Western Tanagers for the first time this year. It was relaxing going birding that day.

Valentine Dance

The kindergarteners at the school had a Valentine Dance. They were to bring a parent, preferably Mom for the boys and Dad for the girls.
Lucky expected Dad to come with him since I don't go anywhere without Jet and siblings weren't allowed at this dance. He was surprised then when it was almost time to go and he found Mom dressed up and planning to attend this dance. It was only an hour long event and we had a blast.
We got our picture taken,
we had refreshments,
there was a presentation in the middle where the kindergarteners sang a few songs to the parents,
and we danced
and danced
and danced.
I am so glad it worked out that I was able to go. I really enjoyed that bonding time with Lucky and I want to thank my sweetheart, Jeremy, for making it possible and for taking such good care of our baby while I was away from him.

What We Did for a Road Trip

Jeremy had a couple of fairs in Montana recently, which meant... road trip for the family.
I prepared binders for each of the kids with pens, pencils, colored pencils, and lots of printed activities and blank paper for drawing (oh, and spiral notebooks for writing).  One of the favorite activities to do together were the mad libs.  I found several online and we had leftover Quibbler Mad Libs from Nichole's party (I blogged about it on August 2).  The binders were good for in the van as well as in the motel.

Jeremy decorated the front of the boys' binders (we ran out of time for Nichole's so he'll get to hers later).  They all had glow-in-the-dark paint on them.

Lucky got the Flash symbol.

Jr. Jr. got the Bat symbol.

Jr. got a Minecraft decoration.

Jeremy worked hard and made some amazing sculptures at the two fairs (I don't have access to the pictures right now- catch me later).  The kids and I hung out in the motel and watched Disney Channel, read books, did scripture study, ate food, and Nichole worked on her homework (yes, during the Summer).
We also got creative and silly at times.

Nice to have cool air blowing on you.
This becomes this.
Nice red cheeks.

Jeremy brought him and I a special treat again- "wagon wheels" and cherry 7-up (with extra cherry syrup).  Mmmmm.

The actual traveling had good times and not so good times.  Poor Lucky was exhausted on the way to the second fair.  His ear was hurting as well.  He kept asking to stop the van and be held.  Poor little guy.  However, at one point, while we were stopped at a rest area, he went and picked flowers for everyone.  What a sweetheart.
I think getting out to run around a few times helped as well as those times he just needed to be cuddled.
Watching a movie was a good distraction as well.
Overall, it was a good trip.

Valentine's Day 2017

While menu planning for Valentine's Day, I asked my family members what foods they love and thought it might be nice to have some of those for Valentine's Day.  So we had orange chicken and rice.  We had pizza and hot dogs.  We had apples and we had Woo-woo.
Before dinner, we took the kids to a new playground near the Orem Library.  Lucky fell asleep in the car, so I stayed with him and read a book while Jeremy took the other kids to play.
Even earlier in the day, Jeremy helped out in Jr.'s class for his Valentine party.  He brought balloon bows and arrows and a balloon target for the kids to shoot at.  The target reminded me of Captain America's shield so we had a good laugh after I saw that he was also wearing an Ironman shirt.  My sweetheart is the Avengers.  Captain America (shield), Hawkeye (bows and arrows), and Ironman (shirt) all in one.
We had some good family time this Valentine's Day.  During dinner, Jeremy and I told the kids some stories of past Valentine's Days when we were dating and when we were married.  It was a lot of fun with my family today.  I love them all.

What a Sweetheart

One day we needed tortillas with peanut butter for people to eat.  Jr. Jr. volunteered to make them.
He is such a sweetheart.
