National Dog Day 2022
Wow. A lot of people were celebrating National Dog Day on August 26. I saw several pictures of people's dogs online. Way to celebrate, people.
Since I don't have a dog, I celebrated by eating them... dogs... hot dogs... in squid pup form.
It is a very unattractive picture because I tore my piece of french bread into pieces and put jam on all the pieces and they kind of took over the plate. But I don't care. I celebrated National Dog Day. Yumm.Thursday, September 2, 2021

Wolfenoot 2020
"Have a howly Wolfenoot."
We learned of a new holiday created a few years ago by a kid in New Zealand. Wolfenoot. It is celebrated on November 23 every year. You can find out more about it on the official website wolfenoot.com where we got ideas for our celebrating this year.
According to the website, Wolfenoot "is when the Spirit of the Wolf brings and hides small gifts around the house for everyone. People who have, have had, or are kind to dogs get better gifts than anyone else. You eat roast meat (because wolves eat meat) and cake decorated like a full moon."
We had chicken drumsticks.
Jeremy made and decorated a cake to look like the full moon (with craters).
The four oldest kids went around the house and found treats for each of them. That doesn't mean the rest of us aren't kind to dogs. We were just okay without the treats.
The kids and I also watched some videos about the Fibonacci Sequence in nature and in music because November 23 is also Fibonacci Day.

National Color Day 2020
October 22 was National Color Day. It was also Make a Dog's Day.
Jet and I went for a walk along the Provo River. There were still some Fall colors. Several people had dogs on the trail. Boom. Celebrated.
For dinner we had hot dogs and Polish sausages with multicolored condiments. Boom. Also celebrated.
And what is it with pumpkins in the river? I saw a couple more while we were walking.
This one didn't make it into the river. Tee Hee.Saturday, October 17, 2020
International Moment of Frustration Scream Day 2020
October 12 was International Moment of Frustration Scream Day.
Nichole brought out her crocheted puppets to celebrate.
That day was also Columbus Day so Jeremy told me that morning he was heading out to make his "rounds." Heh heh. Get it? Get it? 'Cause Columbus? And rounds? Heh heh.
Actually when he was about to leave, Jet reached up for him so Jeremy took him. Jet is often clingy with Mommy so whenever he reaches out for someone else, they usually take him. Everybody adores that baby. This time, however, when I tried to take him back, he held on to Daddy, waved Bye to me, and looked to the door. He wanted to go with Daddy to make his "rounds." Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Get it? Rounds? Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Anyway... we compromised. I got my shoes and socks on and he and I went for a walk around the neighborhood while Jeremy... ran errands.
While we were out for our walk, we saw a little dog waddling around. It was barking and after a little while Jet started making sounds. I figured out he was imitating the dog. So cute. A little bit later, we heard some birds and he started making sounds there, too. So cute again to try to copy the birds. When we got home we went to the backyard and watched jays get peanuts from the feeders. They are big enough and were close enough that Jet was able to see them easily.
After school that day, Lucky brought home a story and some little white ghosts on sticks. In the story, the little ghosts eat things that are not white and turn different colors. It was cute to listen to him telling the story.
I'm glad he's having fun at school.
