The End of 2025

Yesterday, December 30, was Mercer Mayer's Birthday. We read some Mercer Mayer books.

For dinner we had carbonara for Bacon Day.

Sweet Jeremy brought roses home for me.

Today, I got out for my last morning walk of the year because... today is New Year's Eve.

Later I was "making guacamole. Making guacamole" for our New Year's nachos.
Jeremy got some writing in and had hot chocolate in the composition mug. How fun.
Now I'm too tired to write anymore myself so I'll see you next year. Or you'll see me next year since this is my blog.
Happy New Year!

More Catching Up

August 25 was Kiss and Make Up Day. Jet and I were arguing. We stopped and gave each other a kiss on the cheek and then got along.

August 26 was National Dog Day. Jet helped make squid pups.

It was also Toilet Paper Day. We used toilet paper.

August 29 was Chop Suey Day. I just made some teriyaki. It tasted good.

August 30 was Toasted Marshmallow Day. And International Bacon Day. Nichole had this great idea to combine them. Bacon on S'mores. Why not?

August 31 was Eat Outside Day. We did.

Other Celebrating in December

We celebrated Lucky's birthday in December. I told him he had a free pass and didn't have to do chores on his birthday. He got up that morning and helped with dishes anyway. What a sweetie.
For his birthday, he got foods he wasn't picky about for dinner. And cake and ice cream and presents and cards.
Earlier in the day he came home with a balloon penguin on his shoulder (he gave out balloon animals to his classmates) and some treats someone gave him.
A few days before his birthday, a schoolmate brought over a Christmas gift for him. His own 2-liter bottle of strawberry lemonade. He enjoyed that.

December 28 was Chocolate Candy Day. It's a good thing we had plenty of Christmas candy left. Jr. Jr. even put a piece of his candy in my mouth for a picture. Aww, thanks, Jr. Jr.

December 29 was Tick Tock Day. Jeremy gave a balloon gold watch to a fellow employee who as leaving their job.
I also blogged about the Giving Machine on that day.

December 30 was Mercer Mayer's 80th birthday. Jeremy and I went to the library and picked up some Mercer Mayer books. It was also Bacon Day. I made carbonara for dinner.
That morning I got out for a nice walk around the City Center Park because they still had lights up on the trees and it was quite pleasant. I miss going out for walks.

Bacon Day 2022

December 30 is Bacon Day.
We had Bacon Pizza. I didn't want to do plain one-topping (besides sauce and cheese) pizza again. We do that too often. So I grabbed some extra items (green bell pepper and canned pineapple) and put them on as well. So nice.
And that is all I will write about that because I am literally falling asleep as I'm trying to write this blog post.

Family Activity

So while I was being "lazy," Jeremy was working hard at a fair in Twin Falls, Idaho- for several days that first week, then also on Labor Day. He didn't start first thing in the morning, though, so that Saturday, September 3, we did something fun as a family together. We already are in the habit of having prayers and sometimes scripture study over the phone when Jeremy is traveling. So why not do a little something more? Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was on Prime Video and we actually had the DVD checked out from the library as well. So the kids and I turned on the DVD, Jeremy started the movie on Prime, and we watched it "together." Then as we were watching, we texted comments back and forth. That was fun. We didn't get to finish the movie, though. Jeremy had to go work on his balloon sculpture and a little later kids were fighting enough I told them to turn it off.
We had Chicken Caesar Salad Wraps to celebrate International Bacon Day on the 3rd.
Lucky's loose tooth finally came out as he was eating his wrap. He'd been working on that tooth for a while.

Here is how Jeremy's fair sculpture turned out by the end of the fair (he added to it each day, except for Sunday. He doesn't work on Sunday. Instead, he went to church with our friends and visited with them, playing board games and such). I like how this sculpture turned out:
