We're Thankful for... Jet

"When you're a Jet, you're a Jet all the way From your first bassinet to your last dying day."

We adore Jet. He is such a ham. He finds everything hilarious from stealing and wearing others' bathrobes or blankets to snuggling with loved ones.

He's still my baking buddy and makes just as many messes as he used to (sometimes more).

For Jet's birthday this year, he managed to blow out all the candles on his cake himself.
For his birthday, we picked foods we thought he'd like again. Apparently he wasn't interested in eating everything on his plate but was interested in the ice cream we got him. Neapolitan ice cream since he likes multiple flavors. He prefers ice cream to cake.
We did introduce him to a new trick for his birthday- blowing bubbles in milk.

He had no problem opening presents and cards, however.
Lucky, in his thoughtful way, wrapped up a toy in a blanket for Jet to "open." So sweet.

You're an absolute blessing in our lives, Jet.

We love you and are so thankful for you. Happy Thanksgiving!

Family Day

Last Summer one of our Family Home Middays was spent up Provo Canyon.  We stopped at Bridal Veil Falls where Jeremy gave us a lesson about following the right path.  You want to be constantly moving in the right direction just as a river continues to flow to the ocean.  You don't want to get stuck in a lake or pond that doesn't continue on.

We fed the fish at the base of the falls then headed on up to Big Springs.

We had a picnic then got to run around with outdoor toys that we don't always get out.

Poor Jr. Jr.  There were too many yellow jackets around scaring him while we were trying to eat.  Finally he and I got away from the table and sat on the ground to eat.

We had some silly string that needed to be used up and we finally let the kids break out the bubbles I wouldn't let them spill blow indoors.

Jr. showed us that he was really good at catching butterflies.  There was one that he kept catching over and over.  It even landed on his leg at one point so he just had to set the net over it.  He was also really gentle when letting the butterflies out of the net.

It was a good family day.

And it tuckered out all of the kids.

Blowing Bubbles with Grandma

Grandma taught the kids to blow bubbles with homemade bubble blowers.

They had fun and I even got involved a little.

How do you like my bubble blowing self portrait? Yeah, I took that picture myself. Yes, I know I'm awesome.
Here are instructions from FamilyFun to make these homemade bubble blowers.

How to Blow Bubbles in Your Milk

Step 1: Start by blowing through a straw into your milk.

Step 2: Keep blowing.

Step 3: When Mom comes up close with the camera, smile a little as you're blowing the bubbles so she knows you're really enjoying it.

Introducing the Telford family

Kristin: Hi. What do you want to know about me? Well, my favorite color is green. I’m a stay-at-home mom/homemaker. I like doing crafts. I’m good with tautology. I’m co-owner of Balloon Guy Entertainment, LLC. I juggle. I make balloon animals. Last summer I was involved in making a life-sized T. rex skeleton out of balloons. Her name was Bubbles. I grew up in an awesome family, I married into an awesome family, and now I have an awesome family of my own. I ramble. My favorite animals are wolves and banana slugs. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest. I would say I’m creative… most of the time. I have a wonderful husband; my balloon guy (he is flesh and blood, not made of balloons). I tend to take a long time to get to a point. I have thoughts. I’m a girl/woman. You can learn more about me by coming back to this blog.

Jeremy: I am married to the wonderful lady above. When my age was still in the single digit range I won a coloring contest and got tickets to go to a circus. My life has never been the same. Of course the other day my wife ‘eeeked’ when she stepped on a bug and technically my life hasn’t been the same since. The only way my life could ever remain the same is if it never changed. I think they call that death, though death is a significant life change too… hmmm. Anyway, I do balloons, lots and lots of balloons. I build giant sculptures out of balloons, I build logos out of balloons, I fly to South America to do balloon motorcycles, I am going to go to Vegas to compete in balloons, I hope to write a book on balloons, I also juggle. My favorite animal is a Humbolt Squid, my wife made me one for my birthday (out of balloons.) I love my in-laws, at least all of them so far; we’ll have to see as other people get married if I continue to do so. I love to learn new things like web and graphic design, tax and liability law, marketing and advertising, and whatever else I can if I think it will help my business. As much as I love balloons, my family is my greater love and always will be no matter where I am or what I am doing.
