More July Holidays

Let's jump into catching up on more July holidays.
July 7 was Father Daughter Take a Walk Day. Jeremy was not available that day so I took Nichole for a walk into a store to get hair stuff and makeup. Girl time. Woohoo.
It was also Macaroni Day so we had macaroni with our dinner.

July 10 was Teddy Bear Picnic Day. We had a picnic with teddy bears and non teddy bears on the living room floor. We made sure to invite Eeyore so he wouldn't be sad. Jr. picked a lovely location for us- Ordon Village.

We ate chicken patties for Cow Appreciation Day on July 11. Reminded us of a certain chicken place's advertising.

July 13 was Embrace Your Geekness Day. I like to call it Embrace Your Geek Day. I made sure to get a picture embracing Jeremy while wearing my Jurassic Park shirt.
The kids played chess with a Legend of Zelda Chess set.

July 14 was Mac & Cheese Day so we had shells and white cheddar and added macaroni.

It was also Shark Awareness Day. I bought gummi sharks for this holiday but forgot to get them out so we had them along with gummi worms on Gummi Worm Day, July 15.

We celebrated Nichole's birthday in July. We quickly turned the fan off before there was any candle... situation.

Parents Day Off

September 14 was National Parents Day Off. My sweetheart and I went on a date... to get gas in the van... and to go bowling.

That was fun. I don't know that we'd ever gone bowling together before and it had been years since either of us had.
This is me trying to ask the magic eight bowling ball if I'll knock down the last two pins.

And of course for this real date, I wore my Jurassic Park shirt.
I love spending time with my husband.

Since it was also National Eat a Hoagie Day, the kids made dinner since it was our day off. They made Chilly Pheesesteaks (because I can't pronounce Philly Cheesesteaks correctly) using some provolone cheese we had in the fridge and some canned roast beef from the pantry (and other seasonings, etc. that we have). I made homemade buns/hoagies the day before so they would have those to work with and we didn't have to buy hoagies.

Dinosaur Date

June 22 was National Kissing Day. What a great day for going on a date (yes, there was kissing).
Jeremy got up that morning and made us a "raptor's nest" for breakfast (hashbrowns, hard boiled eggs, some hidden sausages).
He got me a Jurassic Park tshirt (yippee).
Do you see where this is headed?
We went out to see the last Jurassic World movie. My opinion of it (don't worry- no spoilers):

We'd been preparing by watching all the other Jurassic Park and Jurassic World movies for a few weeks leading up to this. I tried to gather some of Jet's dinosaurs while watching the movies since I am convinced his dinosaurs are based on the Jurassic Park/World dinosaurs. Dilophosaurus has neck frills, velociraptor has blue running down its back. You see?

Here's me watching the T. rex attack in the first Jurassic Park movie with Jet's T. rex.
This is Jet and me with apatosaurus while I watched the first Jurassic World movie.

It was a nice date and I loved it. Dinosaurs and my husband. Two great things.

Jurassic Park Marathon

January 25 is A Room of One's Own Day.  Today, I took a day off.  Well, most of a day off.  Jeremy did have to go do some work stuff and was gone for several hours.  But I was able to spend most of the day in my room... alone.  I put on the first three Jurassic Park movies as background noise as I went over some organizational stuff.  Jeremy brought me food from time to time.  He's so awesome.
I also took time for dinner with the family and Family Home Evening.  Jeremy got the kids to bed and after they were in bed, he and I watched Jurassic World.
It was a dinosaur day for me.
