It's funny how our family gives certain parks nicknames and others we don't. Some of these nicknames really stick. For example, the kite flying park. Years ago we went to fly kites there for Kite Day (even though we have other parks that we found work better for kite flying) and the name stuck.
Hill Park, however, is just Hill Park. It's an appropriate name anyway because of its location. And Scera Park is just Scera Park because that's its name.
Often nicknames come when the kids don't know the name of the park so we use it to explain what park we're talking about and that's how we continue to describe it even if later everyone learns the actual name of the park. Or the kids make up the name like "fishy park" because part of the playground has the shape of a fish.
One recently nicknamed park is where we celebrated Pluto Day. Since then the kids have been calling it Space Park and saying that one of the playgrounds at the park looks like it has space equipment on it. So it was appropriate on Meteor Day, June 30, to play at Space Park with friends.
And it was fun.

Me, My Selfie, and I
June 29 is National Camera Day. Jeremy suggested a name for this blog post when I told him what the holiday was. So I went with it.
We got selfies of our family and some friends today.
Here are some pictures that Lucky took a different day when he got hold of my camera. Sigh.

Museum Comes to Life Day 2015
We didn't watch Night at the Museum for Museum Comes to Life Day this year on June 24.
We did go up to visit the Wonders at the Museum of Ancient Life. Zeus at Olympia looks so awesome.
In the statue's hand is a smaller statue of "Winged Victory" or "Nike." When a breeze blows through the room, Zeus's fingers move. It's like he comes to life. How awesome to celebrate that way this year.

Man, This Summer
Wow. We are being kept busy this Summer. The kids and I got to go visit friends this morning to have some water fun. The kids got to run around in sprinklers and play in a kiddie pool and squirt each other with water toys. I got to have nice conversation with my friend. Then we all had lunch before the kids and I headed home.
Then this evening we got to go to a farewell party for a friend who is going to be heading out on a mission. She was so much younger when we first moved into this ward. Now she's going on a mission. It was good to see all the people wishing her well. The kids had fun playing games and rolling around in big balls. Jeremy was even able to make it after he finished work. It was a great evening.
Man, this Summer has been so busy. It's been great, though.

World Juggling Day
This year, World Juggling Day was on June 20.
I juggled for the kids and Lucky laughed so hard while watching me. It was great.

Still At It
This little guy cracks me up. If he sees someone else getting their picture taken, he has to get in the picture.
It works really well when I want all the kids to be in a picture and I've gathered the three oldest already.
He's a hoot.

Artemis and Zeus
The kids and I visited the finished Temple of Artemis sculpture at Thanksgiving Point today.
Jeremy was working on the statue of Zeus at Olympia.
O.K. kids. Nice picture.
Now, silly picture.

Eat Your Vegetables, Kids
So yesterday was Fresh Veggies Day and today, June 17, was Eat Your Vegetables Day.
I may have picky eaters (and picky about different things), but they all like salad. Well maybe not the youngest. But he'll eat salad toppings. He had cheese and onions and croutons and dressing and several other things.
Dinner success tonight.

Captain Orange Veggies Fudge
June 16.
Captain Picard Day. We didn't watch any Star Trek, but Jeremy and I joked about telling the kids to "make it so" when they wanted to help with things.
National Fudge Day. The kids did help me make fudge. The recipe came from the June/July 2015 issue of FamilyFun Magazine. Creamsicle Fudge. Yum. Oh, and I just realized something. The recipe says to refrigerate the fudge for the final time before eating it. I put it in the freezer. Maybe that's why the pieces came out of the pan like this.
Oh well. I just put the rest of it in the fridge and maybe it will be easier to get out in the morning. Still tastes great, though. Also, the recipe says to take it all out of the pan before cutting it into pieces and I only wanted to take a few pieces out for pictures. That's fine, though.
No Orange Clothes Day. None of us wore orange clothes. Although 3 of us wore red shirts, which is more of a nod to the classic Star Trek series than Next Generation.
Fresh Veggies Day. I made sure we had fresh carrot sticks and celery sticks to go with dinner.

Photogenic Lucky
My parents were in town visiting. I wanted Jr. to take a picture of me with them. As soon as Lucky saw that we were going to do the picture he immediately came over and posed with us. Of course we didn't shoo him away. He just adds to the cuteness of the picture.
I love my parents and I love little Lucky.
And my husband and my other children, too. They just weren't in the picture.

An Unexpected Surprise
Wow. The Hanging Gardens of Babylon are looking kind of sad. Still impressive, but tonight is the night to bid them adieu. It's time to move on.
Jeremy told me Thursday that the Temple of Artemis would look very different on Friday. We went up today and yes, it looks very different. It's amazing what happens when you put pieces together. Wow.
Our reasoning for going up today- Jeremy called and said he was running out of a certain type of balloon and asked if we could bring some more of it. He called again before we headed up to tell us that friends of ours who live in Idaho were in town and were coming to see the Wonders. Woohoo.
These are lifelong friends, the kind that are practically family. So we got to see them when we got to the museum.
And... we got to run around with them through the dinosaur part of the museum, not just the balloon part. The kids had so much fun together.
It was such a nice surprise to find out they were around and our schedules did match up to get together. Love those friends.

More Summer Fun
How is it that so much can happen in such a short amount of time?
The kids and I got to play with friends yesterday morning.
We had a rain storm yesterday afternoon.
We visited the Wonders yesterday evening.
The kids and I got to play with friends again today.
Jeremy came home with some shirts that say:
7 Wonders of the World Official Artist.
So I guess he's official now. He looks so happy about it.
This is only some of the stuff we've been doing. I didn't mention the cleaning and the movie watching and the errand running. I even got a new video up on YouTube about the Wonders build.
