100th Day of School

For the 100th Day of School this year, the elementary schoolers (and teachers/staff/etc.) were told they could dress up like themselves if they were 100 years old. It was fun to see the principal and others outside before school dressed up and welcoming the students.
Lucky told me this is how he would look at 100. Ha Ha Ha Ha.

I gave him a quick haircut and put some gray in his hair since we still had some left over from when he was Brigham Young for the wax museum last year. We also had a discussion about how we don't know what his hair will be like when he gets older- genetics. My dad is bald with gray in what little hair he has on the sides. Jeremy's dad has a full head of naturally dark hair. Who knows what will happen?

Jet didn't want gray hair but was happy with the 100th Day hat he got from school and the treats he got to bring home to eat.

General Conference October 2025

October 4 was Cinnamon Roll Day. I know some people make cinnamon rolls as a General Conference tradition but our traditional food is nachos. I made cinnamon rolls anyway because I like cinnamon rolls and I wanted to celebrate. Lucky frosted them. So helpful.
We also had nachos with fresh tomatoes and jalapenos from our garden!
Nichole made brownies for Saturday evening session which is also a tradition, but we had to eat them starting in the middle. That's how the tradition goes.
So we had some good food for Conference this time.

Other things we did:
General Conference snuggles
More dress up (that silly cutie)
A card game between sessions
I continued to work on those juggling balls that Jr. Jr. and I are making together
Several of us took notes and I definitely wrote down some things I want to work on with myself and in our home.
Another wonderful General Conference.

Fun in July Other Than Celebrating Holidays

We didn't just celebrate holidays in July. We had other fun, too. Some things worked for Summer Reading.
Dressing up (total Harry Potter vibes going on).
He stole my pajamas and put them on himself.
Crafts- it's Dixie Fox.
Bonding time- One day Jr. needed a break so he came into my room. I suggested we play a game so we did... until Jet came and decided to mess up the cards. Sigh.  He wanted to "play," too, I guess.
We brought back some treats from Washington. There were jelly snacks in a frog shaped jar. Jr. and Jet named the jar, "Senor Frog," so at one point Jet said, "Aww. Senor Frog. He's so cute." Jet's so cute.
We've continued to try new recipes. This was BLT pasta salad (big hit with several family members) and Hawaiian baked beans (I was the only one who liked them and I really liked them).
We did one more story trail that they set up on the Provo Library grounds. The Golden River.

Nichole went to a Lord of the Rings marathon at the Orem Library. Jeremy made her a food for one of the breaks.
We weren't able to get tickets for a movie night to watch Wonka at the Provo Library so we checked the movie out and had our own movie night at home with popcorn and brownies.
Nichole and I got out for walks with friends.
A couple family members won prizes from the Orem Library and Jr. won a prize from the Provo Library. Jeremy won a movie night at the Orem Library. Jet won some new Pete the Cat books. Jr. won some play tickets. We all got some prizes just for participating in the Summer Reading programs.
July was busy.

100 Groundhogs

Today was the 100th day of school and the 1st graders were encouraged to dress up as if they were 100 years old.  Jeremy let Jr. Jr. wear his tux jacket and take his dapper cane and an old bowler.
Lucky dressed up like a pirate (see previous post).  Jr. Jr. did a good job staying in character.  Cute... slow... kid/old man.
Besides the 100th day of school, it was also World Wetlands Day and Groundhog Day.
We celebrated World Wetlands Day by going birding, part of the time was to some wetlands.
We celebrated Groundhog Day by eating imitation groundhog burgers.
We did a lot in January but we were also busy and I didn't blog that much.  Maybe I'll catch up again someday.  Who knows?  You'll just have to come back and see.

The KAT's Meow

After listening to the radio ("Listen to Your Heart")-
Lucky:  I'm not going to listen to my heart.  I'm going to listen to you, Mom.

Mom (thinking of Jr. Jr. and the 100th day of school): We’ve got to figure out how Jr. Jr. is going to dress up tomorrow.
Lucky:  I’m going to dress up like a pirate.

Favorite Character Day

It was "favorite character day" at school.  Nichole decided to dress up like Angelina Ballerina.
Jr. decided to dress up like Daddy.
 Well, he's definitely a character.

Beautiful and Gorgeous

Nichole: How do I look?
Mommy: With your eyes.
Nichole: No. How do I look?
Mommy: With your eyes.
Nichole: No. How do I look like? Do I look beautiful and gorgeous?
Mommy: Yes. You look beautiful and gorgeous.
Nichole: I'm a beautiful and gorgeous fairy.

Word Girl

During Literacy Week at Nichole's school they had a "Dress as your Favorite Character" Day. I asked Nichole what she wanted to dress as and she let me know, "Word Girl." So, we threw together an outfit and let her go. Luckily we already had a cape from Jr.'s birthday. She does enjoy getting to dress up and it's fun to help her.

More Dress Up Fun

I just love to see my daughter's creativity during dress up.

Isn't she a cutie?

Little Girls Love Dress Up

We're trying to get things organized before the baby comes and Jeremy would love for his office to be really usable as an office and studio and not just a storage area. So we've been going through a lot of crates and boxes lately (hence the mess in some of the pictures I've been putting up on the blog).

Nichole noticed some of our clowning and entertaining stuff and just had to try it out.

Arrr.

Going on an expedition.

I can't think of a good title for this one.

After Thursday's show at the library, we were DONE. They were cleaning up some of the decorations when one of the library workers offered to make Nichole a skirt from the little streamers that they'd been using. Of course Nichole was very excited about it- especially since it was purple.

The lady was sweet enough to make one for Jr. as well.

He sure likes to be like his big sister.

Dress Up Time

You can't tell, but she's wearing fairy wings. She let me know she's a fire fairy. Can you tell why? Then she continued to accessorize.
