And Here We Go

Busy busy busy busy busy busy day.  It's the beginning of December.  You know what that means?  That's right.  It's Eat a Red Apple Day
Oh, and we started our Countdown to Christmas advent calendar.  Our old flags were getting a little... old so Jeremy made new flags (changed some of the scriptures) and I laminated them.  We put them on new skewers and we were ready to go.
This morning when the kids got up, we had put dreidels in the vase with the flags.  They got to spin them while waiting for everyone to get ready for scripture study.
Besides Christmas scripture study, we once again started #LightTheWorld, which is being done again this year.  Day 1: Jesus taught: "Freely ye have received, freely give." -Matthew 10:8
We've been sorting through a lot of things lately in our home.  I've realized that a lot of things we have that have just been sitting in crates for years aren't getting used by us.  Instead of thinking maybe someday we'll use them, they might be able to be used by others now.  So today we donated a whole bunch of items to D.I.  Hopefully they can do someone else some good.

We've all been taking time to give service lately when we can.  Today we also had a little friend come over while his mom was working on some things.
The kids told me ways they'd done service at school such as holding doors open for people and inviting others to play with them.
Jr. Jr. also has a countdown activity from school.  It's a bell with rings for each day up until Christmas.  The bell says:
"How many days till Christmas?
It's mighty hard to count.
So glad this Christmas chain
Will give the right amount.
Take a link off everyday
So you can surely tell.
And Christmas Eve will be here
By the time you reach the bell."
Jr. Jr. has been so excited about getting to use it.
This evening we went to our ward Christmas dinner and program.  Lovely food, lovely music, lovely company.
So after such a busy day (I didn't even mention everything that went on), we are on our way for getting ready for Christmas.  Keep coming back to my blog and I'll let you know how things are going this December.
