First Day of Spring

It was a rainy first day of Spring on March 20. I stayed after church for choir practice and decided to walk home because it was the first day of Spring.
It was a bit breezy and it sprinkled. My sister said she got snow. Interesting first day of Spring. For several days after that it felt more like Spring.

We had snowman sandwiches for Snowman Burning Day that first day of Spring evening.

Nichole came home from her trip that night. Yay!
I forgot to get a picture of her when she left but made sure to get pictures when she returned.
She had a great time. I'm so glad. She also got some fun souvenirs.
Lucky made a lite brite "Welcome Home" message for her. She liked it.
 Welcome home, Nichole!

Day, Day, Day, Day

May 2 is a great day to celebrate.
The kids and I went for a nice Sunday drive up the canyon so we could all see Bridal Veil Falls. This time we just stopped at the overlook to get some quick pictures.
Having fun like that was appropriate for World Laughter Day.
My precious!

For dinner that evening, we celebrated World Tuna Day and Baby Day with snowman sandwiches with tuna filling and baby carrot noses. We saved the rest of the lemonade from Paco's birthday so we could celebrate Lemonade Day on May 2.

Spring Equinox

March 20 was the Spring Equinox but all our celebrating went out the window because I had a sick child. Speaking of the window, we forgot to close the window. Oh well. That was a fun tradition last year.

The boys did make Snowman sandwiches for the kids because it was National Snowman Burning Day. Thanks, boys.

Carnival Day 2014

February 26 is Carnival Day.

With dinner, we drank pink lemonade.  That's a carnival type drink.

It was also our Family Home Evening night, so for our activity the kids played a carnival game- coin toss- trying to toss pennies in a ring.

Nichole and Jr. did some tricks.  They could be in a carnival side show.

Jeremy tried out a new magic trick on us.

And for FHE treat (this has nothing to do with carnivals), Jr. suggested snowman sandwiches.  This time, besides the raisins, everyone could also use carrots to decorate the outside.  This is how they turned out:

Snowman Sandwich

Jr.:  This is the way to eat a snowman sandwich.

I learned something new.  A snowman sandwich is any kind of sandwich (in this case, peanut butter and jelly for Jr. and peanut butter for Jr. Jr.) with raisins stuck onto the outside of it to make a face.
