Leap Year 2024

It's Leap Year once again. Last time we had one of these it was four years ago. Heh Heh.
Actually last time, Jet and I were both sick on Leap Day. Then the whole world got sick that year, 2020.
Today, I have a mild cold and Jet also has a cold but his is a bit worse. His nose is a lot more goopy. Oh, and Jr. has a bit of a cold, too, but he doesn't get to stop and rest because tomorrow is Opening Night for "Beauty and the Beast" at his high school and he is in the pit orchestra again this year.
Leap Day in 2016 several people in the family were sick.
It doesn't look like we were sick for Leap Year in 2012.
I don't know how 2008 was. I wasn't blogging yet.
I still have a lot of catching up to do because recently I was too tired to blog, then our internet was out for several days, then I got this cold so didn't feel up to it, now we're back to me being tired again, so to go along with tradition, here is a picture of the sky.
Happy Leap Day.
Oh, and Jeremy and I did watch the movie, Leap Year, yesterday.

February Catchup

It's amazing how I can miss just a few days of posting on this blog and I feel like I have to do major catchup. Oh well. So let's do some of that catchup right now.
February 19 was National Chocolate Mint Day. Jr. really wanted to make chocolate mints but couldn't find everything that was needed so he took my advice, melted some chocolate, and dipped pieces of candy cane in it- voila, chocolate mints.
February 21 was the anniversary of The Legend of Zelda. The kids played Zelda music on their stringed instruments. A couple days later, Jr. played the game Majora's Mask while Nichole painted. Yeah, that's right. If you give Nichole a medium...

February 23 was National Rationalization Day. It was somewhat low key that day. I did make banana bread because it was also National Banana Bread Day. I'll tell you something. It was so nice to sit around the table as a family, eating banana bread and talking. I love my family.

February 26 was Carnival Day. We had pink lemonade with dinner.
February 27 was National Chili Day, National Toast Day, and National Strawberry Day. Guess what we ate. Turkey chili and toast with strawberry jam. Mmmmmm.
February 28 was National Tartar Sauce Day. We had fish sticks sandwiches. That day was also National Tooth Fairy Day. Lucky celebrated a day later by having another loose tooth come out while he was eating carrots.

February 29 was Leap Day. Apparently, according to our 2020 National Day Calendar, it was also National Rare Disease Day USA. How appropriate I was sick that day. Luckily it wasn't a rare disease, though. I'll take what I had over something really scary. I looked back at my last Leap Year post in 2016 and family members were sick then, too. Sigh.
Nichole and I watched the movie, Leap Year, on Leap Day. Nichole and Joshua also took care of dinner that night. Thanks, kids. Joshua took care of dinner the next night as well while I was recovering but I'll go into more of that when I post about the beginning of March.
Wow. Busy busy. And it's still Winter so this is all still with the baby and me not going out much. Wow.

Leap Year Post?

How appropriate that I posted that picture of Majora's Mask yesterday because Jet and I spent a lot of time today lying down looking at that decoration.
Normally on February 29, I like to blog about what big changes have happened in the last four years. Today, however, I'm not feeling well so... you don't get that this Leap Day.
Happy Leap Year anyway.

Leap Year 2016

Well, it's been four years since I last blogged on Leap Year.  And I'm just as disorganized as I was four years ago.  Sigh.  Actually, right now things are pretty disorganized because we're going through sickness in our home.  Blah, not fun.  And it's all different kinds of sick.  Some people throwing up.  Some people with headaches and earaches.  Congestion, runny noses.  Sick.  Blah.
So that's what Leap Year is like this time around.

Some things are different than four years ago.  We still celebrate a lot of course,
but we've picked up a new hobby- birding.
And since last Leap Year, we've added a new family member- Lucky.
Both Nichole and Jr. have lost several teeth since last Leap Year where they hadn't lost any at that point.
In 2015, Jeremy spent all Summer building the Wonders of the World out of balloons (I helped a little).
He also broke a world record for largest modelling balloon sculpture by an individual (I didn't help, but supported him).

Jeremy and I are still happily married and again will continue to be four years from now.
So, this is our family this year.
I know I already put this picture on this blog, but it's the most recent family picture we have.

Wish us luck that next Leap Year we don't have sickness going on, but have even more exciting things to talk about.

Leap Year 2012

Four years from now on February 29, it might be nice to look back on what the Telfords were doing in 2012. The kids have literally been leaping about our home because it's "Leap" Year.
Obviously, creativity exists in our home.
We find lots of reasons and ways to celebrate.

And lately, it's been organization, organization, organization around here. A lot of that means moving mess from room to living room then back to the original room in an organized fashion. Some rooms take more effort and the mess goes from room to living room to room to living room, etc. as things are organized or eliminated.

So the living room is getting a workout. Clean, messy, clean, messy, and on and on and on. We're getting there, though. I figure by February 29, 2016, we'll have it figured out.

I better leave with a clean view of the living room.

We'll be able to look back at this point and say, "Wow, was I ever that disorganized?" or, and I'm dreading this, we might look back and say, "Wow, was I ever that organized?" I'm really hoping for the former.

Nichole's first loose tooth hasn't come out yet. It's been loose practically all month but it didn't come out for National Tooth Fairy Day yesterday, February 28, 2012.

Jr. also hasn't lost any teeth, but we weren't expecting him to yet. What he has lost recently is some of his hair. He had a haircut and went from this

to this
Jr. Jr. is currently teething, working on a few more teeth trying to poke through, but still only 6 teeth poking all the way out.

Jeremy and I are still happily married and will be four years from now when we look back at this. This is our third Leap Year since we've been married.

So this is our family, Leap Year 2012.

Technically these pictures are of our family September 2011 (taken by my talented sister, Kimber), but I figure a few months won't matter compared to four years.
