How appropriate we had our at-home potluck on January 9 which was National Sunday Supper Day.
Nichole wasn't feeling the greatest so I told her she could just join Jet in contributing ice water to dinner. I had made whole wheat bread recently so Jr. Jr. decided to do butter and jam with bread.
The Italian bread bowls from Mel's Kitchen Cafe turned out well and were great with soup in them... or for carving... or for eating plain.
When I told kids to think about what they wanted to bring for the potluck, Lucky said he wanted to do dessert and Jr. said he wanted to bring desert. So he got creative. He made a yellow cake and took some of the no bake cookies that Lucky made to make big rocks. He also took vanilla melties, melted them, and added green food coloring, then squeezed it out of a bag to make a cactus shape which he later added to the desert. I do love his creativity.
