Spring Break 2017

We just finished Spring Break for the kids.  Boy, was it busy.  We did some awesome things, had some great family time, and stayed out pretty late some nights.  I hope to do individual posts about some of what we did (besides what I've already posted), but here are a few highlights before I get to those posts:

We saw ground squirrels and itty-bitty ground squirrels (we've been thinking they were prairie dogs, but we recently found out we were wrong- they are ground squirrels).
Here's a picture of me looking at a ground squirrel.

We saw the other kind of squirrel.  You know the kind with the bushy tail that has been fed by too many people so it comes up and begs even though people aren't supposed to feed them?  We didn't feed them.
Here's a picture of Jr. looking at a squirrel.
Here is a squirrel photobombing a picture of the kids.

It was good we had such good weather to have such adventures during Spring Break because this morning we had to scrape snow and ice off our windshields before going to church.  I didn't get a picture of that.

Fish Fingers and Custard Day 2017

Ashton Gardens at Thanksgiving Point are open again.  Yay!  I took some time this morning walking around the Gardens.  I've missed that.  It really is so relaxing.  Lots of birds singing a lot in the morning.  And beautiful flowers.  Love it.
They are getting all ready for the Tulip Festival which is coming up.  This year, because the tulips are coming up early the Tulip Festival is going to last about a month.  Wow.

This evening because April 3 is Fish Fingers and Custard Day, we had our traditional fish sticks with vanilla pudding to dip them in for dinner.  Jeremy also made a pizza out of some of our Conference nachos leftovers.  Yumm.

General Conference Weekend

Conference nachos and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day, April 2.
Yeah, we know how to celebrate.
That and going to an open house for one of our college friends who is getting married.  One of the nicest people in the world.  So happy for her.

Lek It or Not

It is so worth it to wake up at 3am to go to a lek to see the greater sage grouse displaying.
Wow.  That was quite the experience.  Wow.
Thanks to my husband who encouraged me to go.  Thanks for my birding buddy who went with me on the 1 1/2 hour drive in the dark and helped me find a loon for the first time on our way home.
