Don't Say I Never Do Anything For You, Kids

The kids have been wanting to go to the Museum of Natural Curiosity again.  We've been going to the Museum of Ancient Life so much this Summer but I haven't taken them to the Museum of Natural Curiosity.  So when my zucchini-bringing cousin called up and said her kids wanted to go to the Museum of Natural Curiosity while they were in the area, I got the kids ready and we met them up there.
It was fun to run around with them.  Our kids were excited to introduce them to lots of things and we ended up getting to do quite a bit of different activities at the museum.  I'm so glad it worked out.  And we got a picture with all the kids together.
Ah, I've said it before.  I love family.

ZUCCHINI!

Yesterday, August 8, was Sneak Some Zucchini Onto Your Neighbor's Porch Night.
I mentioned it on facebook and this morning, we found a big zucchini on our porch.
Thank you, friends.
And my cousin in Southern Utah mentioned on facebook that he had lots of zucchini to give away and his wife just so happened to be heading to this neck of the woods.  So she brought us some zucchini, too.
Thank you, family.
I've been wanting zucchini so I really am grateful to those who shared with us.
On a different note, my aunt was also visiting Utah from back East and she came to see us today.  That was a treat since I haven't seen her for years and years and years.
I LOVE FAMILY!
AND ZUCCHINI!

Sea Serpent Day 2015

Today, August 7, is Sea Serpent Day.  The kids and I went to the library and picked up The Water Horse to watch.  I figured that's close enough to a sea serpent.
We also wanted to have a picnic, but it was rainy earlier in the day.  So we got to do it for dinner.  Nice picnic... until some of the kids were being disobedient and we had to leave early.
Oh well.

Petra Floats

Yesterday, August 5 was Work Like a Dog Day.  I told the kids that if we worked really hard all day, we could celebrate the next day, August 6, National Root Beer Float Day.
Jr. tried to get out of it by saying that dogs are lazy and just lie around.  I explained to them how some dogs work really really hard.  Finally I told them, "Anyone who works as hard as I work will get a root beer float."
I took some pictures throughout the day of them "working like a dog."  I even gave them a list of things they could start with.
They did help with some things.
And other things?
I saw them doing this
when they should have been doing this.
So in the end Jeremy and I had root beer floats this evening.  I did work really hard.
And we realized something.
We looked at pictures Jeremy took of balloon Petra.  The side walls look like root beer floats with the layers of root beer and ice cream and root beer and ice cream.
We had themed food for Petra and it wasn't even planned.  Petra Floats.  How cool is that?

Chichen Itza Pizza

At the start of building the Ancient Wonders of the World, we had themed food- hanging garden salad.
After Jeremy got his world record we had themed food again- long hot dogs.
During the start of the Modern Wonders of the World, we again had themed food- Chichen Itza Pizza.

We have fun.

Last Week

After breaking the world record, Jeremy took a week off... sort of.  Instead of going back to work on the Wonders, he did balloon animals at a county fair in Wyoming.  Monday through Saturday.
A couple of the days, the kids and I visited cousins.
A couple of the days, the kids and I played at the fair.
On the last day, we got to have a nice picnic lunch with Jeremy then the kids got to play at a couple playgrounds while Jeremy went back to work.
When we got back to Utah Saturday we stopped off at Thanksgiving Point so Jeremy could help the other balloon twisters who had been working on Chichen Itza all week.
And now that week is over.
The End.
