July 13 was Embrace Your Geekiness Day.
Yeah, we totally went to see the new Spider-Man movie for a date that day.
Tee-hee.
After the movie we went out to eat for my birthday... finally.
July 13 was also National French Fry Day so we had french fries with dinner... with the kids.
We had a good date... and french fries with the kids.

Gummi Worm Day 2016
July 15 is Gummi Worm Day.
How do you like to eat your worms?
Nichole obviously likes to eat her worms as if she were a bird.

Busy Celebrating
We have been so busy lately. We've had so many reasons to celebrate that we haven't been turning much to our Calendar of Celebration, even for some of the holidays we've celebrated in the past. Sorry, National Taco Day on October 4, National Cake Decorating Day on October 10, and National Chocolate Covered Insect Day on October 14.
It's been good being busy but at times it's been overwhelming.
It's been good being busy but at times it's been overwhelming.
Aaaaagh! Don't eat me!
Aaaaagh! Don't fall on me!
So please bear with me as I try to share some of how we've been celebrating lately. And please forgive me if we don't get around to celebrating some of your favorite holidays from the Calendar of Celebration.
One of my favorites is coming up (National Pizza with the Works Except Anchovies Day on November 12) and I hope we don't miss it this year.
Out of curiosity, what are some of your favorite holidays coming up?
And pizza toppings. What are some of your favorite pizza toppings?

The KAT's Meow
Jeremy: Sometimes I'm so clever I pontificate.
Kristin: What?
Jeremy: Sometimes I'm so clever I pontificate. I don't even know what pontificate means. I hope it's nothing bad.
Kristin: I know I've heard the word before but I don't know what it means.
Kristin (looks up in the dictionary): Pontificate.
Jeremy (reading and laughing at the same time): To speak in a pompous or dogmatic manner.
Kristin (laughing): Sometimes I'm so clever I pontificate. So it does fit.
Jeremy and Kristin: Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha.
Mommy: Whose green apple is this on the table?
Jr.: Oh, mine. I didn't finish it because my stomach started to feel bad. You know my problem where I eat something healthy or I just drink water, it makes my stomach hurt?
Mommy (talking about needing to get the kids new shoes before the school year): It's expensive to have children.
Jr.: At least it's not expensive to have love.
Mommy: Awwww.
(Hugs)

Eat Your Jello Day 2015
July 12 is Eat Your Jello Day.
I hadn't been watching the calendar (I've been busy) so I didn't realize it was Eat Your Jello Day today until after church when I was trying to decide what to fix to go along with our crockpot dinner. I didn't even know if we had any jello. But I looked at the top of the pantry and saw that we did indeed have a couple packages of jello. Hooray!
So I mixed one up and stuck it in the fridge and told the kids they had to wait four hours. They did.
Then it was time to "Eat your jello." This is how it was eaten:
