Amelia Earhart was a pioneer in aviation. How appropriate that her birthday falls on Pioneer Day, July 24.
We celebrated both by dressing Nichole up.
We mostly celebrated Pioneer Day, however.
For dinner we ate Pioneer Turkey Bake and biscuits and dried fruit. Jr. and Lucky made the biscuits. I only helped a little.
We watched the movie, 17 Miracles. That movie always makes me cry.
To end the evening, we watched the fireworks show at University Place. I love living so close that we just have to stand out on the sidewalk to watch it. We did that for the first time a year ago.
Ah, it feels good to blog about our celebrations so soon after they happen.

Amelia Earhart's Birthday
So, Amelia Earhart's Birthday was July 24. Did anyone take my challenge to have a paper airplane contest? Or should I be embarrassed like I said?
Jeremy printed instructions online at www.funpaperairplanes.com with lines showing where to fold. The instructions were very easy to follow. This is saying something from someone who normally makes paper airplanes like this:
I folded three different designs for the kids. Nichole had a Condor, Jr. had a Spade, and Jr. Jr. had a Canard. It was really fun to see how each design flew differently from the others.
How did your paper airplane contests go? Did you blog about them?
