First off, October 13th is International Skeptics Day. Jeremy and I were jokingly skeptical about everything throughout the day.
On a different note, for Family Home Evening, we drove up Hobble Creek Canyon to look at Fall colors. There were more Fall colors this time than last time we went out to see the colors.
We stopped at one point to get out and walk around looking at the colors (and take pictures).
There were leaves all over the ground. Jeremy suggested the kids make leaf angels.
Jr. said it was too cold, which is funny because he was upset this morning when we told him he had to wear a jacket to school. "It's too hot," he said. Jeremy said it was about the same temperature this evening as it was this morning.
The kids also got into an impromptu leaf fight. They were throwing and kicking leaves around all over.
It was so much fun.

Be Careful How You Celebrate
October 12th is International Moment of Frustration Scream Day. Be careful how you celebrate this one.
One time I was upset with my kids and I screamed into a pillow (at least I didn't scream at them). I lost my voice because of it, which was horrible because I was supposed to sing at a funeral a day or two later. One of my sisters was going to accompany me on the piano. Luckily my other sister came in and saved me by singing the song with me. What great sisters I have. And they have such pretty voices, too. And the one sister plays the piano well.

Nice Day
We had some nice things happen today.
Jeremy and Nichole got to go on a Daddy-Daughter date this morning.
The boys and I got to go to a baptism. Two children were getting baptized. These were two children who I taught when they were Sunbeams. Now they're 8 years old and baptized. It was such a nice meeting and baptism. They both looked so happy. I loved it.
After the kids went to bed, I did some celebrating. October 11th is It's My Party Day. I listened to "It's My Party" by Lesley Gore and danced a bit. Why not?
It was a nice day.

Paper Cake
October 10th is National Cake Decorating Day. To celebrate, I cut rectangles and circles out of paper to make paper cakes. I gave them to the kids with some crayons to decorate them. We ran out of time for them to finish so they are going to finish later. I'll show pictures of the finished products after I've put them together and taped them up later.

Big Boy Carrots
Jr. Jr.: Are those big carrots?
Mommy: Well, they're not baby carrots?
Jr. Jr.: Are they big boy carrots?
Mommy (confused): Are they big boy carrots?
Mommy (realization): Oh, I see. As compared to baby carrots. Big boy carrots. Ha Ha Ha Ha.
