The Never Ending Cold

You know?  There are those times when I feel I can do so much.  Grind wheat, make a list of Spring/Summer activities, and watch The Piano Guys all at the same time- literally all at the same time.

Then there are those days when I feel like all I can do is sit around wiping my nose with tissues and look through my husband's "coming soon" blog.  That's helpful, right?

My husband thinks it's helpful.  The blog part, not the nose part.
This Winter has been awful for colds.  It seems like as soon as I get over one another one starts up right after.  I'll have a few days of feeling like I can do anything, then... bring on the drippy or stuffed up nose again.  Sigh.
Counting my blessings, though.  It is just a cold.  It's annoying but just annoying.

National Hot Pastrami Sandwich Day 2013

It's amazing how many holidays are to celebrate a certain food (like National Tortellini Day on February 13).  It's amazing how many that don't celebrate a certain food lend themselves to eating certain foods (like eating something with honey on Winnie the Pooh Day, January 18).  I'll admit a lot of our menu planning around here has to do with what holidays are coming up and what foods fit in with those holidays (Groundhog Day is coming up and we'll have our traditional imitation groundhog burgers).

Since today, January 14, is National Hot Pastrami Sandwich Day, the obvious choice for dinner was... hot pastrami sandwiches.
Yummm.  I love finding reasons to celebrate.

Happy National Rubber Ducky Day

It's National Rubber Ducky Day.  January 13th.  This is how one of my brothers and my parents celebrated today:
 Happy National Rubber Ducky Day.
May your day be just ducky.

Peculiar People Day 2013

What can I say?  It's January 10th.  It's Peculiar People Day.  It's the Telfords.

First Modern Circus

Here's one for you.  Today is the 245th anniversary of the first modern circus.  Yep.  January 9, 1768.  That was even before I was born.

To celebrate, I went on a quick hunt in our home for some things you might see in a modern circus.  Here's what I found with the time that I had:

We also have juggling objects (obviously), but I couldn't get them out of the closet.
I'm sure there are plenty of other items in our home that would fit this category, but I only had so much time.  I had a Relief Society activity to get to.

Joy Is...

Listening to a medley of Winnie the Pooh, Jingle Bells, and Tomorrow (from Annie) sung by a two year old while he's playing with Batman and Joker toys.
