Jr. finished another Summer of UVU Prep. Since it was all online this year, instead of a big closing celebration like they had last year, there was a drive-thru pick up of T-shirts. They normally get T-shirts at the beginning so they can wear them for weekly field trips to know that all the kids belong to their group. All the field trips were virtual field trips this year so they didn't need to keep track at a physical location.
The T-shirts were a fun design. On the front they had symbols for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. The symbols were inside a computer monitor. The back said "Socially distant, intellectually engaged 2020."
Even though he couldn't be there physically, he still enjoyed his time. He learned new things which he liked sharing with us. He also enjoyed the online meetings and games with his group and SAs (Student Assistants), college students who are assigned to the junior high students to be their guides through the program. He did really well in his classes. He took Algebraic Structures, Problem Solving 2, and Physics. Good job, Jr.
