Advent Calendar- December 9th



Decorating

Jeremy built our balloon tree and put a string of balloon lights and a balloon star at the top. It's right in front of the middle of our window so anyone coming by can see it. We let the kids know that it is good to use our talents to do things that will make other people happy and smile.

We got some other decorations out as well, but the things down low Nichole and I moved later to a higher point as we had friends coming over with a little toddler. Our apartment isn't the most child-proof place even though we have two of our own.

    It is a nod to the Hogfather from the Terry Pratchett Discworld series. (Though the skull has been around for years. His name is Murray. Which is a nod to the Lucas Arts Monkey Island videogame series).

    I love the skull- we have a few on our tree, too. different reason, but it makes me laugh that our families both do that.
